At Soleful Massage, we use Traditional Chinese Massage. Sometimes referred to as Acupressure Massage, our massage applies the same principles as acupuncture to promote relaxation and wellness and to treat disease. In fact, acupressure is often thought of as simply acupuncture without the needles. Acupressure is one of a number of Asian therapies with roots in traditional Chinese medicine.
Acupressure Massage is a unique technique based on the theories derived from traditional medicine. Using hands, forearms, elbows, knees and feet, the massage therapist applies pressure on special areas or points called “Acupoints” or “Acupuncture Points”. Acupoints are the key locations to improve energy flow, remove the blockage, and eventually relieving pain and stress.
The massage that Soleful Massage offers involves several kinds of rolling, rubbing, pushing, pressing, and pointing. These actions not
only work on skin level but focus on deeply penetrate into those Acupoints. This is the distinction between Chinese Massage and other types of massage. It also makes it possible to carry out the massage without any removal of clothing.
The goal of acupressure massage is to restore health and balance to the body's channels of energy and to regulate opposing forces of yin
(negative energy) and yang (positive energy).

We offer head massages, especially good for people who suffer from migraines, headache, stress, insomnia, fatigue, sinusitis, or high blood pressure, ect. The pressure we apply to the acupoints on you head relieves tension, improves circulation, and relieves stress. Your body and your mind relaxes, your circulation improves and your energy flow is more balanced.
Acupressure massage of your head not only treats the energy fields and body but also the mind, emotions, and spirit. It increases flexibility in the neck and shoulders and improves the flow of blood throughout the entire scalp. It also provides relief to tired facial muscles.
or acupressure points, that lie along meridians, or channels, in your body. These are the same energy meridians and acupoints as those targeted with acupuncture. It is believed that through these invisible channels flows vital energy -- or a life force called qi (ch'i). These meridians connect specific organs or networks of organs, organizing a system of communication throughout your body. The meridians begin at your fingertips, connect to your brain, and then connect to an organ associated with a certain meridian.
According to this theory, when one of these meridians is blocked or out of balance, illness can occur. Acupressure Massage is one method thought to help restore balance. It can help speed up the healing of injuries in the joints, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and it can help reduce the pain and stabilize people with long term illnesses. Acupressure works by applying pressure with a thumb or finger to a point or points that are relative to the problem. Chinese Massage incorporates both acupressure and massage techniques.
It’s not just a foot massage! Reflexology is used to support your body’s natural healing abilities for numerous health concerns like stress relief, sports injuries, back pains, migraines, sinusitis, and pain relief. It is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Blockage of your Qi can prevent healing. The proper pressure received in the feet, the primary area of application, sends signals to wake up your system and opens up blockage of your energy meridians. Your body relaxes, your circulation improves, and your energy flows in balance. This balanced flow of energy and calm feeling encourages your body to heal itself naturally. In other words, reflexology massage stimulates your own system to run as well as it can, letting your own body heal itself.
